So, after X went quiet in the early 90's Exene and drummer DJ Bonebrake got together with Matt Freeman from Rancid for this short-lived late 90's project. The sound feels like a more updated X, with a bit more spring in their step. It's a great release. And, just in case you're not paying attention the first time around, they repeat the ENTIRE cd after the last track.

This 1988 tape comp out of Germany is chock full of quite a variety of different styles of punk and hardcore, and even a little metal. 12 bands and 25 songs. Some hits, some misses. Well I guess you could say they all have "misses" in a way (get it?!?). Rather uneven, but a decent listen. The cover says it's "The 2nd Female World Compilation Tape". I've never located the first.
