V/A - Punk Rock Xmas

Let's round out 2016 with the 13th of 12 Posts of Christmas. This 1995 compilation comes courtesy of our friend François. An entertaining release. And before I go I'd like to thank everyone for the support again this year. It continues to be fun for me. And we'll see you again next year!

Angry Snowmans - December Jukebox 7" + What Makes An Elf Build Toys?

And on the 12th Post Of Christmas your true drunk gave to you... two more Angry Snowman releases to round out your collection. Such a great band! We have the December Jukebox EP from 2013 (thanks Nenad!) and their 2015 EP that is equally brilliant.

The Angry Snowmans are here to tell you that Christmas isn't about buying shit and it sure as hell isn't about Jesus... It's about getting drunk, stuffing your face and having fun with your friends... THAT'S IT!

GG Allin + Afterbirth - Black & Blue Xmas Record Split 7"

We finally reach the bottom of the christmas stocking today. The very bottom. GG and Algae put this one together on a night that must've had LOTS of booze and alcohol, and an acoustic guitar. Nowhere to go bu up after this one, right?

Fuck You & The Xmas Trees - O Holy Fuck

Ok, now we're going completely over the line. Not sure about the history of this band or release. But I do know they're really not happy around this time of year.

The Yobs - Christmas Album

The Boys were a late 70's english punk band that quite frankly I had never heard of. However, in December they would get all full of holiday cheer, rearrange the letters of their name and release "christmas" music. Here's their entertaining full length from 1980.

The Damned - There Ain't No Sanity Clause

Yeah, we could argue if this is truly a "Christmas Release", but c'mon... look at the cover. And there's even jingle bells in the song!!! Anyway, this was originally released in 1980 as a 7" with a different track list. What we have here is the 12" re-issue from 1985. Ho Ho Ho

V/A - Last White Christmas - Raw Masters

The legendary Last White Christmas Festival was held in Pisa, Italy on 12.04.83. The equally legendary ChrisBCT compiled two volumes of highlights from the show. However, master tapes of the entire show have been kicking around. In your stockings today you find a fun little project to do with your friends. Our old friend Ash sent these to me long ago, when I was collecting the entire BCT series. And it sat quietly in my collection. Why? Because no track info was provided. I always wanted to do the leg work involved to get it together properly, but just never got it done. So... if anyone would like to be the star on top of our christmas tree, please feel free. Unfortunately Ash seems to no longer haunt these halls and ChrisBCT is probably angry (and rightfully so) that I never followed through in getting him the copies of his tapes that I promised him. So I can't go to those sources. One last note, it was said that there were 5 cd's of masters, but I only have 4. So I'm guessing I'm missing part of the show.

Destructors - Merry Christmas And Fuck Off

Behind the rather un-jolly sentiment is some pretty cool early 80's English punk. No, there are no christmas songs, but if the title mentions chrismas it's a christmas release, dammit!

Tad - 8-Way Santa

Ok, so this release has NOTHING to do with christmas. But it has 'Santa' in the title so we're rolling with it! Here's the heavyweight champions of grunge with their 1991 cd.

U.K. Subs - Live At The Jolly Boatman 12.21.87

Today begins a stretch of posts that might not exactly be too Christmassy, but to be honest, I've been doing this for some time now, and the Christmas pickin's are getting pretty slim! Here we have a 1987 bootleg that catches the punk legends in damn fine form. And the first track is a wonderfully sweet holiday wish.

Fishbone - It's A Wonderful Life (Gonna Have A Good Time)

So... what are your views on Fishbone? I think they were (are?) an AMAZING live act and a whole lot of fun. Here's their 1987 holiday release and it is... a whole lot of fun.

The Amazing Crowns - Holiday Bootleg EP

In the spirit of the season I present this month The Twelve Posts Of Christmas.

We start with what could have easily been included last month. The Amazing Crowns were a really fun rockabilly outfit from Rhode Island. This was a limited edition release and apparently quite rare at the time. I stumbled upon it back in the legal days of Napster. However, as a result, it's incomplete. Not only is it missing track 3 "1965 G.T.O.", I also don't have the "Holiday Greeting" that is at the beginning of the lone Christmas track. Sure, nowadays the entire thing is easily downloaded for a fee, but I'm far too much of a Scrooge to do that. So, can anyone complete this EP for me? If not, just enjoy what I got.
