Before Hüsker Dü transformed from hardcore super heroes to college rock superstars there were a couple releases somewhere in the middle. This 1983 EP (as well as the full length Everything Falls Apart which has somehow not made it on here yet) does a good job of bridging the two sounds. Not too hardcore, not too alternative.
