Mod Dirge - Get Out Of My Yard

OK, back to normal. In fact, back all the way to the reason I started all this. 80's Hardcore! And more specifically, U.S. hardcore.

We begin on the campus of Virginia Tech. This sucker was on my wish list for ages until finally my new best friend Terry came through. I just love this tape. Yes, 'Tape', even though it says 'LP'. I'm guessing almost no one out there has heard this but I strongly urge you to give it a try. Very entertaining.

  3. No. What I should have said is that I love this at first listen, and it should be in the collection of any true fan of hardcore. Just when I think that I have heard it all, you dig up another gem!

  8. HIYO! Jonny from Mod Dirge here most of these blasts were written 1981-1982 I think this "lp" came out in 1983. There's another Mod Dirge studio tape that surfaced recently & I made a "best of Mod Dirge" CD just for personal consumption. Around 83-84 we discovered Slayer and added a touch of thrashmetal flavor and became Megadosage, and recorded at Inner Ear in 1985. Dirge was never in MRR but Jello actually called our house to tell us we were one of his favorite bands (we were starstruck of course) & interviewed us in MRR#25 and we gave an idiot-clown interview and alienated all the politi-punx whoops. Then we became even more thrashmetally and became Yer Mom. Had a great time with those bands played with all kinds of 80sHC heavyweights like COC, GBH, Expoited, Scream, GI, White Cross, Iron Cross, Landlords, Raw Power, Mentors, etc etc etc most of those braincells have died. Anyhoo thanks for carin & sharin u can reach me at jmayocpa@hotmail.com

    1. It's an honor, Jonny! First time I saw you guys was at that run down house up at Catawba. Good times!
Thanks for all the bonus info. I love it when the actual band fills in details.
The Yer Mom tape can be found elsewhere on here, although I've lost the original cover.
If I could make a request, what would it take to acquire the full Megadosage demo and the Best Of CD?
Thanks again. If I'm ever in that direction I need to buy you, and your buddy Terry, a drink!
