Dezerter, from Poland originally formed in 1981 as SS-20. This, their first full length, was released in 1987 on Maximum Rock 'N' Roll Records. They're a good hardcore band, but this L.P. does tend to drag. The band, however, still exists today.

V.A. - Hard-Core Ljubljana
Here's a good sampler of the early 80's Yugoslavian hardcore scene. Five great bands.

U.B.R. - Corpus Delicti 7"
Here's a band I actually got into back in the day. U.B.R. (Rebels Without A Cause) came roaring out of Yugoslavia. I originally heard them on 'Welcome To 1984' and eventually found this 7". They released a small handful of 7"s and appeared on several comps between '83 and '84. This (and the forth-coming Yugo comp) is all I've heard, tho. Great stuff.

Trottel - Christmas Demo '86
Trottel was also a Hungarian punk band. Haven't been able to locate too much info, tho. This demo is from 1986 (obviously!). Pretty interesting stuff. It has a 70's punk, or maybe No Wave feel.

CPg - Demo 1983
Hungarian punk band CPg (which I beleive stands for Come On Punk Group) originally formed in 1979 and released this, their first demo, in 1983. This is a damn good band here. Once again it's unfortunate that it's demo quality. These guys are fun to listen to. Very 'minimalist'.

Radegast - Homo Novus Demo
Radegast was formed around 1982 in Czechoslovakia. Influenced by early 80's American bands, they played lightning fast female-fronted hardcore. This is their first demo, from 1986. Unfortunately it's demo quality. I'd love to hear this a bit better produced.

Schleim Keim - The Demo
First stop: the Eastern Bloc.
Schleim Keim, which roughly translates into the kings' english as "slimey germs", were one of the first punk bands in East Germany. They started around 1980 but were unable to release anything until this demo in 1991. They had a few more releases before breaking up in the mid-90's. Tho sloppy and underproduced I think it is well worth a listen.
