T.S.O.L. - Disappear

Here's an album originally requested in October by the Comic King. So T.S.O.L. is of course a legendary band. Throughout their long history they've never been afraid to change their sound. Well, in the mid-80's, after original singer Jack left, they tried the poofy-hair metal thing. I've never actually heard that stuff. Everyone said they suck so I didn't explore it. At the turn of the century the surviving original members reformed to release some new punk records. This being the first of those. The problem is, I had written them off oh so long ago. Thank you Comic King for kicking me in the ass! This is a really good album!

  1. I would explore the first record post-Jack, Change Today from '84. That record got me into TSOL when it was littered throughout a Vision skate video. No big hair yet and the songs are fucking amazing. Maybe that's because I was listening to it in '86 while skating, and it was all good...but check it out anyway.

  3. Good to know about this one even if the review said it sucked from the original post. Missed it entirely and I have all of 'em. Except of course "Hit and Run" since by that third one they really DID sell out bad in the review so I skipped it and waited for "Darker My Love" to surface in blogs and of course I kept true to Jack and got the Tender Fury ones. I agree with the Change Today comment and even like the one after that I forget now, but had "Flowers in the Dark" that was on the Thrasher skate comp. as a not bad version of a Tales of Terror song, I think. Still am not going to buy this one due to no memorable songs the blog had said.
